The Retriever Alumni community is 100,000-strong and represented by the UMBC Alumni Association, founded in 1970.

The Alumni Association is led by a volunteer Board of Directors – graduates who support advancing the mission and vision of the association and, by extension, UMBC, through their visibility as alumni leaders and active participants in the ongoing work of the board and its committees.

The Office of Alumni Engagement, composed of UMBC staff, works to bring alumni together, and provide a bridge to the campus and current students. We strive to provide resources and support as UMBC alumni attend, connect, and give back. We collaborate with campus partners to serve the interests of the alumni community with programs and events that support both alumni and the goals of UMBC.
