Why Minor in Latin American Studies?

An interdisciplinary minor that gives you a broad understanding of the Latin American world.

The minor in Latin American Studies introduces you to the art, history, literature, cultural studies, geography, and political science of the region. You will also improve your skill with the Spanish language, with options for students who already speak Spanish but don’t have any formal training (heritage speakers). Work with other scholars studying topics related to Latin America from other UMBC departments.
