Tom Venable M.A. ’95, instructional systems development, principal of Carl Cozier Elementary School, will be the new deputy superintendent of the Bellingham School District in Washington state. Venable, who has been the principal at Carl Cozier since 2004, will move into his new role as soon as an interim principal is selected for the elementary school. County Appointment for Alum: Del. Adrienne Jones '76

Annual Idea Competition Judged by UMBC Alumni

Three of UMBC’s most entrepreneurial alumni brought their expertise to the table as judges in UMBC’s annual Idea Competition, sponsored by the Alex. UMBC Alumni in Kamenetz's Executive Team

According to a story in the Baltimore Business Journal, three UMBC alumni have been appointed to positions on the executive team of Kevin Kamenetz, who will be sworn in as Baltimore County Executive on December 6. John E. Beverungen ’87,  English, will serve as an administrative law judge (deputy zoning commissioner). Keith A. Dorsey ’76, economics, will head the county’s department of budget and finance. Alum Heads Delaware Public Archives: Stephen M. Marz MA '94
