Bachelor of Science in Psychology

Undergraduate Programs

Why Major in Psychology?

Develop your skills in critical thinking and advanced research analysis.

UMBC’s Psychology Department offers both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree to tailor your experience to your strengths. The B.A. degree is perfect for you if you’re interested in human behavior, social and community services, personality theories, developmental issues, and a wide variety of other focus areas. Consider the B.S. degree if you want to take more biology, chemistry, mathematics, research, and neuroscience-oriented psychology courses.

Both undergraduate degree paths will prepare you for advanced graduate studies. You will graduate with a strong set of skills in critical thinking, creative problem solving, research techniques, and intellectual curiosity.
