Alums inducted into UMBC Athletic Hall of Fame

UMBC Athletics is pleased to announce that seven alumni and one current beloved staff member will comprise its 2014 UMBC Athletic Hall of Fame class: Justin Bronson ’09, men’s swimming & diving, earned five gold medals in America East Championship competition in individual races and three golds in relay events, in addition to numerous silver and bronze medals. He was selected as the America East Conference Swimmer of the Week once as a freshman, twice as a junior and three times in his senior year. UMBC Stands Out in the Crowd

Stroll near The Commons on most weekdays and you’ll see tables piled high with tasty baked goods. The students at these tables are asking for help – spare change, really – to fund their clubs’ latest and greatest pursuits in a way that hasn’t changed much since the university opened in 1966. Tickets for Men’s Soccer NCAA Tourney Game, 11/24

NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament UMBC faces off against winner of Quinnipiac v. Connecticut Sunday, November 24, 5 p.m., Retriever Soccer Park Tickets on sale: Get your tickets now! $10 for adults, $7 for faculty and staff, and $5 for seniors 55+/youth 5-14/UMBC students. Women’s Soccer Team Wins America East Championship!

On Saturday, November 9, the UMBC women’s soccer team made the Retriever family proud as they clinched the America East Championship with a 2-1 win over defending champion Stony Brook. This is the first-ever tournament title for UMBC women’s soccer. It was also the biggest team turnaround in America East Conference history as they achieved a school record of 13 wins!
