UMBC offers the following programs that meet the degree requirements for professional licensure in Maryland.

Individuals may be able to graduate from one of UMBC’s programs, and then go to another state and be eligible for licensure if they meet all of the other requirements besides the degree. This page represents the best information currently available to determine professional licensure requirements and reciprocity with UMBC’s programs. Otherwise, if a state’s licensure requirements are not referenced, then the institution has not made a determination that its curriculum meets the state educational requirements for licensure or certification.

Reciprocity Agreements

In some cases, there exists reciprocity agreements between Maryland and other states. Reciprocity agreements allow individuals who hold a professional license in one state to earn a license in another state, subject to meeting state-specific requirements. They also allow states to work through variations in licensing systems to coordinate license transfers and fill vacant positions with qualified candidates.

Most states have policies in place to extend reciprocity for certain licenses, but few states provide full reciprocity for all fully licensed professionals from other states.
