The Department of Emergency and Disaster Health Systems (EDHS) at UMBC offers comprehensive undergraduate programs that provide students with a unique depth of experience in emergency and disaster health systems. Our offerings include the Paramedic Concentration, Emergency Health Leadership Track, Emergency and Disaster Health Management Track, and minors in Emergency and Disaster Management, and Emergency Health Systems.

Through this baccalaureate degree, students develop a strong foundation in both academic and clinical abilities, while honing essential interpersonal and leadership skills. The program emphasizes sound judgment in high-pressure situations, preparing students for a wide range of career opportunities within emergency and disaster health systems. With hands-on simulation training and real-world experience in our paramedic concentration; to collaborating with Maryland’s Emergency Management Agency in our Emergency and Disaster Health Management Track, our students are ready to meet the challenges of the field.
