Why Major in Biological Sciences?

A great major for students interested in biology or the health sciences, you have the option to earn either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a wide variety of topics to learn about.

The Biological Sciences can lead to either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.). You’ll take a core group of classes in cells, energy, organisms, ecology, evolution, genetics, and cell biology, and gain laboratory experience. Then, choose electives that match your interests and goals, with topics like plant, animal, or molecular biology; bioinformatics; aquatic and field ecology; cancer biology; epidemiology; biochemical engineering; and biotechnology. Biological Sciences students also get a foundation in chemistry, physics, mathematics, and statistics.
