1966 Society

Every story has a legacy — and at UMBC, that legacy begins with people who believe in possibility.

The 1966 Society honors alumni and friends who have chosen to make a lasting impact through planned giving. Their foresight helps ensure that UMBC remains a place where innovation, inclusion, and discovery thrive for generations to come.

About the 1966 Society

Named for the year UMBC was founded, the 1966 Society celebrates individuals whose generosity shapes the university’s future.

By including UMBC in their estate or financial plans, members create opportunities that empower students, fuel groundbreaking research, and strengthen the Retriever community.

These gifts are more than financial commitments; they are acts of vision and belief in what UMBC can continue to become.

Why Join?

First, you create a lasting legacy. Your planned gift helps future Retrievers discover their potential and create meaningful change in the world.

Second, you become part of something enduring. Members are recognized by the university and invited to connect with others who share a deep commitment to UMBC’s mission.

Third, you inspire others to give back. Your generosity shows how one person’s foresight can shape countless futures.

Ways to Give

Your legacy can take many forms – and every gift makes a difference.

  • Include UMBC in your will or trust.
  • Name UMBC as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy.
  • Explore other planned giving options that align with your goals and values.

Our team is here to help you find a way to give that feels right for you and your family.
