Why did I receive a pledge reminder when I already sent in my gift?

You gift could have been added to our system after the pledge reminder was printed or your gift may have been applied to the pledge incorrectly. Please contact Annual Giving at giving@umbc.edu and a correction will be made to your record.

Who calls alumni and parents?

We hire current, full-time UMBC students to contact alumni and parents throughout the year. This allows students to gain valuable work experience while also providing alumni with a true connection to our campus.

When do you call alumni and parents for contributions?

We make the majority of our calls from August through June.

How long does it take to get a receipt?

It normally takes one week, but during peak seasons from December to January and June to July please allow up to three weeks.

I haven’t received a gift receipt or need to correct my gift receipt. What do I do?

What is the UMBC Foundation?

Gifts to UMBC are managed by the UMBC Foundation for the benefit of the University. The UMBC Foundation is part of the University System of Maryland Foundation, Inc., which was founded in 1979 as a not-for-profit corporation separate from the University System of Maryland. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization. A copy of the Foundation’s current financial statement is available online or on request by calling the Foundation office at 301-445-8040.
