Why Study Graphic Design?
Deepen the foundational skills and techniques of your creative practice.
UMBC’s B.A. and B.F.A in Visual Arts both offer unique opportunities for you to explore art history, animation, interactive forms, film, graphic design, photography, video, print media and foundation. As a twenty-first century artist, you will study various media-art forms under the direction of internationally acclaimed faculty. A concentration in graphic design will allow you to broaden your knowledge and skill sets to achieve your professional goals. You will gain the skills necessary to use words and images to visually communicate ideas. Aspiring designers are invited to join our internationally renowned program that focuses on addressing complex questions in visual communication.
You’ll graduate with a strong set of liberal arts skills that will develop your critical thinking skills and leave you intellectually curious for a successful career path in the visual arts and design.
