UMBC’s B.F.A. in Visual Arts offers unique opportunities for you to explore art history, animation, cinematic arts, graphic design, photography, print media, and intermedia arts. As a twenty-first century artist, you will study various media-art forms under the direction of internationally acclaimed faculty.

There are various areas of concentration within the degree that allow you to broaden your knowledge and skill sets to achieve your professional goals. If you’re looking for a more in-depth hands-on program, then the B.F.A. degree in Visual Arts is the program for you.

You’ll graduate with a strong set of liberal arts skills that will develop your critical thinking skills and leave you intellectually curious for a successful career path in the visual arts and design.
