There are two tracks for Statistics majors. The Mathematical Statistics track focuses on a strong theoretical basis, while the Applied Statistics track allows for flexibility in selecting elective applications. Through learning how to use statistical data, you’ll gain the ability to provide valuable insights into the likelihood of a plan’s success, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform critical decision-making empowering you to be a valuable asset in a variety of career options.

What Are My Career Options Studying Statistics?

Graduates of this program are well on their way to becoming exemplary statisticians, mathematicians, and leaders in data management, whether as researchers at government institutions like the National Security Agency or as faculty in academia.

Many of our students compete nationally for programs like the Goldwater Scholarship or Rhodes Scholarship to further their education and research pursuits.

The ability to calculate and work with data also proves to be invaluable in start-ups, finance, bioinformatics, computer science, and the social sciences.
