Gender and Women’s Studies Minor
Undergraduate ProgramsWhy Minor in Gender and Women’s Studies?
Learn about the relationship between gender, power, and the production of feminist knowledge in a variety of fields, including psychology, sociology, literature, media studies, and history.
This interdisciplinary minor investigates the role of gender in social, cultural, economic, and political institutions, as well as in people’s everyday lives and culture. The minor is intersectional, looking at how gender interacts with sexuality, class, religion, nation, disability, and age. A Gender and Women’s Studies minor will empower you to imagine a more just future and equip you with the tools to collectively enact it, as well as critical reading, writing, and thinking skills. This minor can be combined with, among other things, the Critical Sexuality Studies Minor.
