Why Major in Chemical Engineering?

UMBC Chemical Engineering undergraduates choose one of three tracks: traditional, biotechnology/bioengineering, and environmental engineering and sustainability. This well-rounded degree will prepare you for both graduate school and careers in industries concerned with the chemical transformation of matter, such as chemical processing, food processing, metallurgy, energy conversion, petroleum refining, and pharmaceutical production.
