Why Study Media and Communication Studies?

Use theoretical and hands-on courses, internships, and research to master navigating dynamic media environments and reshaping them through critical thinking and multimedia communication.

Communication is becoming increasingly digital, interactive, and global. As a Media & Communication Studies student, you will learn how to critically refine your media literacy through the study of communication technology, globalization, research methods, media production, and media history and theory. You can also study digital culture (including web design and making visual culture), media production (including television production, video ethnography, podcasting, and sports broadcasting), professional content creation (including political writing, modern public relations, social media networking, and professional communication), and contemporary cultures (including media and globalization as well as media and politics).
