Date:

October 30, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Location: Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall

A group of jazz musicians play their instruments on stage

The Department of Music presents the UMBC Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Matthew Belzer.

Strange things are afoot with the Jazz Ensemble! Come spend the afternoon with them performing an All-Halloween Themed Live (or undead) Show. Treat yourself to our tricky grooves! Become one of us, one of us, and pick up a free ticket if you dare!

Selections include Boo by Tim Hagans, Magic by Frank Wess, Prince of Darkness and Children of the Night by Wayne Shorter, Fantazm by Duke Ellington (arr. by John La Barbera), Kingdom Of Not by Sun Ra, and The Mysterious Axman’s Jazz (Don’t Scare Me Papa) by Joseph John Davilla.

The UMBC Jazz Ensemble is a large jazz group dedicated to the professional training and creative development of its members. Throughout the year, the group performs at concerts, special events and festivals. Student composers and arrangers have the opportunity to have their music read, performed and recorded by the group.

Tickets are free, but reservations are required. Please visit here to reserve seats.

Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall is easy to visit, with plenty of free parking. Please visit here for directions and parking information.
