Ramon Goings, Sherman Scholars, Calls for Increased Representation of African-American Male Doctors

A recent report from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) found that African-American males had the lowest application rate for medical school. Ramon Goings, program coordinator for the Sherman STEM Teacher Scholars Program, responded to this report by issuing a call to action to increase the representation of African-American males in the medical profession. Ramon Goings, Sherman STEM Teacher Scholars, Named Managing Editor of JAAME

Ramon Goings, program coordinator for the Sherman STEM Teacher Scholars Program, has been named managing editor for the Journal of African American Males in Education (JAAME). JAAME is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to advancing scholarship and practice on African American males in education. Goings has previously written for JAAME, publishing an article about the successes and challenges of black male educators in the journal earlier this year.
