University System of Maryland Chancellor William “Brit” Kirwan has been selected as a finalist for The Baltimore Sun’s 2014 Marylander of the Year. The winner will be announced by the end of the year, and public vote will factor into the decision. He chairs the National Research Council Board of Higher Education and Workforce, co-chairs the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, and serves as a member on the boards of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Greater Baltimore Committee, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, and the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education.
