Dr. Yiwen Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where she joined in Fall 2025. She received her Ph.D. from Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University and her B.S. degree from Zhejiang University in 2018. Her research interests broadly span wireless communications, network security, and AI-powered mobile networks and systems. Her recent work focuses on securing and advancing next-generation 5G/6G mobile network protocols and technologies, particularly for emerging applications such as connected vehicles/IoTs and space-integrated cellular networks.Research interests
