Sanjay Purushotham is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and an affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Before joining UMBC, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC) at the University of Southern California (USC). He obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from USC. His research interests are in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, data mining, federated learning, statistics, and their applications to scientific domains such as health & medical sciences; earth, polar, climate, and space sciences; multimedia data sciences, and cybersecurity.
