About
Molly Y. Mollica (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her training is in bioengineering, mechanical engineering, and hematology, including earning a B.S. and M.S. from Ohio State University, earning a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and training as a postdoctoral scholar-fellow at Bloodworks Research Institute. She is the recipient of the Bioengineering Cardiovascular Training Grant, Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F31), Hematology Postdoctoral Training Grant, American Heart Association Career Development Award, and the Translational Research Training in Hematology Scholar Award. Dr. Mollica’s research is at the intersection of engineering mechanics, mechanobiology, and health equity and involves designing and applying multi-scale techniques to understand and predict bleeding and clotting risk.Research interests
