About
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), a position I have held since Fall 2019. Prior to that, I served as an Assistant Professor at UMBC from 2013 to 2019.Before joining UMBC, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2013, where I worked with Prof. Avner Friedman. From 2008 to 2011, I held a postdoctoral position at the University of Minnesota, where I worked with Prof. Hans G. Othmer.
I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2008, under the supervision of Prof. Thomas G. Kurtz.
Research interests
My research interests are applications of stochastic modeling, analysis, and simulation of reaction networks with applications to biological and biochemical processes including cancer and other metabolic diseases.Teaching interests
I am interested in teaching courses in mathematical biology and applied probability for both undergraduate and graduate students.Education
