About
Before joining UMBC Dr. Engel served as the AAAS/APS Congressional Fellow, the APS Senior Science Policy Fellow, and as a Senior Consultant for Deloitte. Dr. Engel holds a PhD in Physics from UPenn, an MS in Computer Science from Brown, and a BS in Math-Physics from Brown, with postdoctoral training at Hopkins and UPenn.
Research interests
Scientific data visualization, computer vision problems related to the natural sciences; computational physics.
