Dr. Mehta’s interest and expertise are in satellite remote sensing of geophysical parameters and their analysis to understand weather and climate variability. Dr. Mehta has extensive experience in a variety of topics including retrievals of clouds, rain, and radiative fluxes from satellite measurements, use of cloud resolving models, use of a hierarchy of radiative transfer models, statistical analyses of in situ and remote sensing observations, and climate model outputs to understand climate variability. Dr. Mehta is a trainer in NASA Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) group and conducts on-line and in-person trainings of NASA remote sensing data utilization for water resources and disasters management.Research interests
Dr. Mehta's research interest include satellite remote sensing of geophysical parameters and their analysis to understand weather and climate variability from storm-scale to global scale. In addition, Dr. Mehta's is interested in analysis of global climate change model data to understand climate impacts on regional and global water cycle.Teaching interests
Dr. Mehta's teaching interests focus on Weather and Climate Processes, Climate Variability and Change, Atmospheric Physics, and applications of remote sensing data for water resources and disasters management.Education
