Gib Mason ’95, economics, chief operating officer, vice president of finance and administration and director of the Center for Leadership and Innovation at UMBC Training Centers, wrote an article in the Baltimore Business Journal highlighting his top New Year’s resolutions for leaders. UMBC Interim Policy on Prohibited Sexual Misconduct and Other Related Misconduct Approved

UMBC’s Interim Policy on Prohibited Sexual Misconduct and Other Related Misconduct was approved by President Hrabowski on December 22, 2014, and includes more information on prohibited misconduct that includes Sexual and Gender Based Harassment, Sexual Violence, Relationship Violence, Domestic Violence, Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Intimidation, Sex and Gender Based Stalking, and Retaliation. Head Men’s Soccer Coach Pete Caringi Named NSCAA National Coach of the Year

UMBC Head Men’s Soccer Coach Pete Caringi was named 2014 National Division I Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The award is voted upon by Caringi’s fellow coaches who are members of the NSCAA. It is the Retriever mentor’s third top honor in 30 years, as he was selected as the National Junior College Coach of the Year in 1984 and 1989. At the senior college level, Caringi earned South Atlantic regional honors in 1999 and Northeast regional honors in 2013. UMBC Introduces Summer Enrichment for Middle and High School Students

Starting Summer, The Shriver Center at UMBC will offer various hands-on learning opportunities for Middle and High School students through its new Summer Enrichment Experience (SEE).SEE provides an opportunity for local middle and high school students to get a sense of the college learning experience. UMBC was named a 2015 Best Value College by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, recognized on both the Best Value Public University list and “top 300” national Best Value University list. UMBC has again been recognized on the annual President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The award is the highest federal recognition of a university’s commitment to community, service-learning, and civic engagement, and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service. UMBC Named One of Baltimore’s Top Workplaces for 2014
