Visual Arts Senior Exhibition

The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture and the Department of Visual Arts present the Visual Arts Senior Exhibition, featuring work of graduating seniors in photography, graphic design, cinematic arts, animation and interactive media, and print media, reflecting the interdisciplinary orientation and the technological focus of the department.

The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture and the Department of Visual Arts present the Visual Arts Senior Exhibition, featuring work of graduating seniors in photography, graphic design, cinematic arts, animation and interactive media, and print media, reflecting the interdisciplinary orientation and the technological focus of the department. An Opening Reception will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Maryland Arts Summit

UMBC is pleased to host the annual Maryland Arts Summit, a statewide conference presented by and for the Maryland arts sector, including arts advocates, arts educators and teaching artists, independent artists, arts organizations, youth, community stakeholders, arts and entertainment districts, county arts agencies of Maryland, public artists, boards of directors, and folklife artists.

Guided Nature Meditation in Joseph Beuys Sculpture Park — Forest Therapy with Nature Sacred

UMBC is pleased to welcome the Nature Sacred Firesoul Network to join our monthly Wellness Wednesday event at 12 noon on July 6, and the public is invited too! In partnership with Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative's Center for Nature Informed Therapy, and supported by Nature Sacred, this forest meditation and nature therapy session integrates traditional therapeutic methods with the healing effects of nature to restore and rejuvenate the mind and body.

Catonsville Arts District — Public Art Master Plan Session

The Catonsville Arts District, located adjacent to the UMBC campus, is engaged in the development of a public arts master plan. The district has engaged the services of nationally-recognized public art consultants Art Builds Community, who will host a listening session for the campus community at the large sculpture in front of the Performing Arts and Humanities Building, Forum by Thomas Sayre.

Jacqueline Pollauf, harpist: Music from the Paris Conservatoire

Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall

Harpist Jacqueline Pollauf performs a program of French music, all related to the Paris Conservatoire, which was the center of the harp world for many years. Her concert will feature music by Gabriel Pierné, André Jolivet, Marcel Samuel-Rosseau, André Caplet, Marcel Tournier, and Pollauf's own transcription of a work by Lili Boulanger.
