About

As a current member of the Department of Information Systems at UMBC, I have been directly involved with teaching a variety of courses over the last 10 years with the University. These courses have ranged from introductory course work, Systems Analysis and Design, as well as leveraging my coding/technical skills – teaching Markup and Scripting languages. I
In my professional career, I have been fortunate to have a diverse work background. I succeeded in the government sector with Lockheed Martin as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, System Engineer, Help Desk Escalation Resource, Trainer, and an IT Project Manager. I also worked in healthcare with 5am Solutions and Qlarant. At the latter, I served as a Director of Product and strategized and developed innovative software products.

Teaching interests

I enjoy teaching a variety of courses. Due to my diverse work background, I have taught a diverse set of courses- ranging from Markup and Scripting languages, Systems Analysis and Design, Hardware and Software Concepts, Fundamentals of Human Computer Interaction, and Intermediate Business Applications. In the near future I will be teaching Foundations of Data Science. I would also be interested in teaching Health IT classes - especially due to my previous work experience in Health IT.

Beyond my continued role as an adjunct faculty member, I have a strong interest in mentoring and assisting those that request help. I have provided feedback and assistance to numerous students over the years, beyond just letters of recommendation.
