About

Dr. Kuwayama’s research focuses on the economics of water resource management and the societal value of scientific information. Prior to joining the School of Public Policy faculty at UMBC, he spent nine years as an economist at Resources for the Future (RFF), a non-profit think tank in Washington, DC that seeks to improve environmental, energy, and natural resource decisions through impartial economic research and policy engagement. He received his Ph.D. (2011) in Agricultural and Applied Economics and M.S. (2006) in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an A.B. in Economics from Amherst College (2004).
