About

Kemp holds both B.F.A and M.F.A degrees from Temple University. She is a Certified Master Umfundalai Teacher and has taught, performed and worked with various professional organizations, both internationally and nationally.

Research interests

Dance as Healing: looking at the overt and subtle ways that trauma affects an individual and ways that dance can be used to support healing.

Untold stories of the Black lived experience: Particularly women.

Movement Memoirs: The Dancing Body is a movement initiative that will explore varied choreographic processes to examine the ways a mature dancing body responds to, processes, retains and articulates choreography.

Transitions- Creating space for the seasoned/aging dancer for the continuity of their embodied practice
