My research interests center on the human dimensions of global environmental change. I use geospatial and related technologies to model complex relationships between social conditions and environmental management and change. A central goal of my work is to improve conservation policy at the global or national-scale so that it positively influences community livelihood dynamics at the local scale. I have active research in Ecuador, Central America, Mozambique, and now Baltimore City.Teaching interests
