I do cross-national research on social policy and gender, work and family intersections. Key topics are inequality, social change, social movements, family diversity, fatherhood, community-based research and comparative welfare states.Research interests
Recently I investigated father engagement with young children in various OECD countries.The focus of my research is on Germany, the EU and the US. My current book project is about different family forms in a number of OECD countries. In Mexico, I studied the APPO movement and indigenous grassroots struggles for autonomous livelihoods. My community-based research in Baltimore involves graduate students and community partners.Teaching interests
