About
Born in Andalusia in the South of Spain, Elisabeth arrived the US in 2001 as a Fulbright scholar to pursue a MA in Intercultural Communication, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Instructional Systems Design and a PhD in Language, Literacy and Culture at UMBC. She is a Senior Lecturer in Spanish and Intercultural communication, McNair faculty mentor for First Gen students, Fulbright advisor, and Director of the Intercultural Living Exchange (ILE) program, a Living Learning Community hosted at Harbor Hall. She has taught in several educational institutions in Spain and the US and participated as professor and course designer of intercultural communication in the inaugural voyage of the Scholarship in 2007, an international higher education program aboard a vessel traveling around the world. projects. She enjoys the beach, traveling, the arts, cooking, and collecting cultural artifacts.Research interests
