UMBC’s minor in Sociology invites you into the study of society, social behavior, groups and social institutions, and social inequality through qualitative and quantitative data. You can select elective sociology courses that interest you the most, exploring theoretical perspectives and research techniques that shape the field. Explore social inequality, social determinants of mental and physical health, social dynamics in communities and neighborhoods, and the social aspects of crime and law.
