Why Study Physics?
Do original physics research within a supportive community and be prepared for an industry or teaching career upon graduation.
At UMBC, you will be able to do original research with faculty as an undergraduate and take advantage of summer internship opportunities as you study how the universe works. Be part of a supportive student community and be ready to go onto graduate studies, right into the workforce, or teaching high school physics to the next generation of scientists. UMBC gives you the option to choose a bachelor of arts in physics education or a bachelor of science in physics along with minors in physics and astrophysics.
