Why Earn Your Certificate in Philosophy, Logic, and Science?
Studying philosophy teaches students to think logically, systematically, and critically, which will apply to many fields, such as business, law, medicine, and science.
This certificate is useful for students who are looking to gain a strong background in the philosophical foundations of various sciences, logic, scientific reasoning, and methodology. Students will take a series of four thematically linked upper-division philosophy courses focusing on different topics related to logic and science, such as deductive logic, philosophy of science, philosophy of logic, scientific reasoning, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of biology, philosophy of medicine, philosophy of physics, decision theory, possible worlds, philosophy and evolution, and paradoxes.
