Andrea Gonzalez and Grisha Goryachev

November 5, 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Location: Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall

A woman and a man hold classical guitars. She wears a white top; he wears a red shirt.

The Baltimore Classical Guitar Society presents Andrea Gonzalez and Grisha Goryachev, each of whom will perform a series of solo works for classical guitar.

Opera World Magazine describes Andrea Gonzalez Caballero as “the female voice of the Spanish guitar” and BBC Music Magazine describes her as one of today’s “young rising stars of the classical guitar.” She will perform works by Sabicas, Mario Escudero, Paco de Lucía, Rafael Riqueni, Vicente Amigo, and Gerardo Nuñez.

A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Grisha Goryachev is renowned for his extraordinary musical sensitivity and technical virtuosity in both classical and flamenco styles. Grisha is one of very few guitarists in the world who is reviving the tradition of solo flamenco guitar in a concert setting, that was practiced by legendary flamenco masters such as Ramón Montoya and Sabicas. He will perform works by R. Sainz de la Mama, Francisco Tárrega, and F. M. Torroba.

Tickets range from $35 to $40 and are available through the BCGS website.
