Summer Session 2015

Schedule Adjustment Period

Registration remains open during the schedule adjustment period (the first four days of summer session). See registration tips for details on how to add, drop, or swap courses in myUMBC.

Schedule Adjustment Period Dates:

  • Summer Session I Schedule Adjustment Period: May 26 - May 29
  • Summer Session II Schedule Adjustment Period: July 6 - July 9

Add a course during schedule adjustment:

  • You can still register for summer sessions courses during the schedule adjustment periods.
  • Once classes begin, check with the instructor before adding a new course to ensure that you can make up missed work.
  • The instructor reserves the right to deny late registration in classes that have already met.
  • Courses added during the schedule adjustment period will be assessed a non-refundable $20 late registration fee.

Drop a course during schedule adjustment:

  • If you drop a course during the schedule adjustment period, you will receive a pro-rated refund based on the date the course is dropped (Check back soon for a refund schedule) .
  • Courses dropped during the schedule adjustment period are not considered an attempt.
  • If a course is dropped after the schedule adjustment period, the transcript will reflect a "W" for the course.

Swap a course during schedule adjustment:

  • During the schedule adjustment period, you can simultaneously add and drop a class (same number of credits) with no financial penalty.
  • Check with the instructor before adding a new course to ensure that you can make up missed work.
  • The instructor reserves the right to deny late registration in classes that have already met.

After the schedule adjustment period:

Semester withdrawal:

  • After the final day to drop courses without a grade of "W" on your transcript, the only way to drop a summer course is to withdraw entirely from the semester (drop ALL courses in the summer session term).
  • Submit a myUMBC Help Ticket to the Registrar's Office requesting a "semester withdrawal".
  • The Registrar's Office will drop all courses in the summer session.
  • Your transcript will reflect a "Session Withdrawal".
