Vision Statement for the Division of Student Affairs

Through the programs, services, scholarship and practice of Student Affairs staff members, our participating graduates should be prepared to:

  • Lead examined, ethical, caring, and fulfilling personal and professional lives,
  • Contribute their best strengths and responsible membership to their communities, and
  • Provide effective leadership in business, government, education, and the myriad settings in which they will be engaged.

Mission Statement for the Division of Student Affairs

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland Baltimore County is dedicated to student learning and student development and the integration of academic and co-curricular experiences. Academic, personal, social, and professional success require mastery of subject matter, knowledge of self and others, analytic and communication proficiency, and experience with interpersonal relationships. Students achieve success in these domains through active learning and engagement in and beyond the classroom.

By collaborating with students, faculty, staff and others from the university and community, Student Affairs staff members will provide programs, services, environments, and systems that foster a wide range of learning and personal development to prepare our students for engagement in a multi-cultural and increasingly global society.
