Undergraduate Orientation

overnight orientation

Getting Retriever Ready is packaged with Course Selection Day and is scheduled for June 24 and 25. Please consider signing up for what promises to be a fun experience. Participants will check in to the Residence Halls in the morning of the 24th, meet the other participants, have lunch together and then have a full afternoon and evening of activities. Participants will stay together in the residence halls and then attend the Course Selection Day activities the next day. Commuter students, this is a fun way for you to have a residential experience for
a night!

Should your parent(s) want to stay on campus, we do have some rooms in a separate building, and we will host a reception and panel discussion for them. We do not have a full program for family members on the 24th, but we will provide families with a list of fun things to do in the Baltimore area. There are scheduled activities for family members on June 25.

To sign up, please visit www.umbc.edu/orientation and click on "register for Orientation Course Selection Day." The cost to participate is $100 for students. This covers housing, meals and programming. Scholarship opportunities are available to cover the cost of this program. Email kboone@umbc.edu for more information on the scholarship. There is an additional fee for parents ($40 for one, $60 for two).
