Undergraduate Orientation

Orientation Course Selection Day

Orientation begins with Course Selection Day this winter. The day-long event is designed to provide you with the opportunity to meet both current and new UMBC students, faculty and staff; learn more about academic options and requirements, begin planning your academic career; register for spring classes; and learn more about student life, both on-and off-campus. Attending an orientation course selection day is mandatory for all new students.

Students should expect to be on campus for a full day. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Many Orientation sessions also include a concurrent family program. You should select and register for your Orientation Course Selection Day online. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
