Research Faculty (Health Policy or Health Economics)

The Maryland Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (MIPAR) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) seeks to fill up to two positions. 

The first is the position of Senior Research Scientist. The principal responsibilities of this position are: 1) develop proposals to secure extramural funding for applied and scholarly research, especially but not limited to the area of health policy broadly defined; and 2) direct, supervise and participate in the conduct of such research. Successful applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. in a field related to public health and present with specific training and expertise in health economics. Applicants for this position must also have a minimum of five (5) years post-doctoral experience and a record of successfully developing proposals for extramural research funding.

The second is the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. The principal responsibilities of this position are: 1) assist senior faculty in MIPAR to conduct externally funded health policy research; and 2) assist senior faculty in MIPAR to develop proposals to secure external funding for research, especially but not limited to the area of health policy broadly defined. Successful applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. in a field related to public health and present with specific training and expertise in health economics.

There will be the opportunity, although not a requirement, to teach courses in UMBC’s Department of Public Policy.
