Ex. 11 "Convegno notturno" (Nigra 76)

"Convegno notturno" seems to belong to Type 1. Apparently the upper voice of a two-voice song in B-flat Major, it begins and ends on the third degree, following throughout in parallel thirds above a virtual main melody.

Night Meeting

"O Josephine, beautiful Josephine, I'm in love with you,
I fell in love yesterday night, while I was close to you.
O Josephine, beautiful Josephine, allow me
Allow me to spend a night with you".
"You may come when you want,
Come to my place at ten, when my parents are asleep."
At ten, the man shows up,
He knocks at the door: "Beautiful Josephine, open the door."
"I'm already undressed, I cannot come tonight.
My father is out, I sleep with my mother".
"I never believed, I never thought
That a fifteen-year-old girl would fool me so well."
