Technology Commercialization
UMBC's post baccalaureate program in technology commercialization
assists students in determining product marketability, developing
and executing a business plan and predicting the direction of future
technology developments.
The graduate certificate program in technology commercialization is
offered in conjunction with the University of Baltimore's Merrick School
of Business. The program is based on their award-winning lab-to-market program.
The program directors are M. Appa Anjanappa, professor of mechanical
engineering at UMBC, and Lanny Herron, director of the Center for
Technology Commercialization at the University of Baltimore.
Anjanappa is the inventor of the Bullet Masonry Drill Bit Speed
Tip for the Black & Decker Corp.
