Baxter Healthcare located in Beltsville, MD is seeking Research Associates/Interns who can start immediately to support their Process Engineering group. Baxter is a leading producer of both plasma-based and recombinant clotting factors for hemophilia, as well as biopharmaceuticals used to treat immune deficiencies and other blood-related disorders. They also produce vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases, as well as biosurgery products used for hemostasis and tissue-sealing in surgery.

Our Process Engineering group has an opportunity to work in our Beltsville Maryland vaccine manufacturing operation as a contributing member in an intern capacity. In this role you will:
· Contribute basic technical knowledge and skills to a variety of projects within Baxter BioScience/Vaccines- Beltsville Maryland
· Interact with personnel from a variety of disciplines, Manufacturing, Quality and Logistics.
. Locate and enter manufacturing and laboratory testing data into various databases and perform basic data analysis
· Conduct routine research and design experiments with some assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform data entry and data analysis in support of the Process Engineering (PE) group. This data can include manufacturing and testing data.
2. Provide general support to the PE group and to the Manufacturing and Quality Control (QC) groups as part needed, including laboratory or process development work. Areas of laboratory or development work can include, microbiology, and chemical testing or microbial fermentation and downstream processing tasks.
3. After a training period, perform all duties in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Facility SOPs.
4. Plan details of assigned tasks within specific parameters. Communicate the outcome of the assigned tasks both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications:
1. The position requires relevant, computer, data analysis, writing, and, laboratory skills plus teamwork/interpersonal skills.
2. At least a junior in a Bachelor's degree program in an engineering or scientific discipline. Research lab experience in GMP/QSR environment is useful.
