McCain Plans Federal Health Cuts
This should be popular...
John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs. The Republican presidential nominee has said little about the proposed cuts, but they are needed to keep his health-care plan "budget neutral," as he has promised. The McCain campaign hasn't given a specific figure for the cuts, but didn't dispute the analysts' estimate.
More details from the Wall Street Journal here
Honestly, the 60+ demographic was his the REpublican candidate's last firewall. Now this?
Stunning.

These candidates never cease to amaze me...
Neither presidential candidate has paid much attention to health care. Their last ditch efforts to share and "sell" their plans is very dissappointing. McCain's plan for being budget neutral by realizing cuts in Medicare and Medicaid just moves the holes from one part of the leaky bucket to another. I would like to see something more comprehensive from both canidates with better cost analysis.
It never ceases to amaze me that Policitans feel that it is OK to balance the budget on the backs of the frailest and needest in our society. A word of wisdom to Politicans " old age and sicness do not discriminate" In light of the current financial mess, you may yet reap what you sow.
