What is terrorism, what are its effects, and what can/should we do about it?

In this class, we will use films such as Munich, United 93, and The Dark Night, books such as September 11 oral histories, and television shows such as Lost to explore how American popular culture makes sense of terrorism in general and September 11 in particular.
