Students interested in a minor in biological sciences
must complete the following requirements, in addition to
completing all of the requirements outlined in their
major.

| *CHEM 101 or 123 is a pre-requisite, and
CHEM 102 or 124 is a co-requisite for BIOL 302. |
In addition, the minor requires at least six
credits of BIOL electives to include at least one two-
to four-credit course at the 300 or 400 level. A majority
of courses offered toward the minor must be completed in
residence at UMBC. A minimum of nine credits of upper-level
BIOL courses is required. At least two of the courses applied
to the minor cannot be included as part of the courses
satisfying the requirements of any other major. BIOL 398,
399 and 499 may not be used to fulfill requirements for
the minor. A grade of "C" or better must be earned
in all courses and prerequisites applied toward the minor.
A course taken on a P/F basis will not count toward the
minor.
