| Departmental graduate
students have established the Graduate Student Association
of Biological Sciences (GABS) to promote scientific and social
interactions among students in various graduate programs.
In addition to monthly meetings to discuss graduate student
issues, the organization sponsors an annual Graduate Student
Symposium, as well as monthly “chalk talks” where
graduate students present their research to their peers and
faculty. Financial support for travel to scientific meetings
is also available through GABS and the campus-wide Graduate
Student Association.
