Courses Taught
BIOL 430
This course provides a general introduction to metabolic and structural biochemistry. The syllabus focuses on the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids as major fuel sources in the human diet. Although course topics and the textbook, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, 2nd Ed, by Voet, Voet & Pratt, focus on basic concepts that are generally applicable to many areas of the life sciences, in class discussions and assigned exercises tend to emphasize the theme of human health and disease.
